Circular economy research & innovation for a green recovery

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light the fragile nature of our current linear economies, and the systemic challenges our societies face. But how can this be an opportunity to build a green and sustainable recovery that will lead to climate neutrality?

Organised by EIT Climate-KIC and the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises (EASME), this event on 1 December at 10:00–11:30 CET will explore how the efficient design and funding of circular economy research & innovation can support nations with their economic recovery plans.

Bringing together a global community, the session will offer an excellent opportunity for learning and best practice sharing, and increase cooperation for a circular economy transition. The event will gather speakers from European institutions, as well as representatives from national and regional governments, to discuss concrete actions and progress towards a circular economy transition. The session will invite questions from the public, and will touch base on challenges, opportunities and lessons learned from the implementation of systemic circular economy programmes.
