Closing the Loop: Circular Packaging and Company Study Cases
The ERASMUS+ CIRCVET project on Circular economy practical training materials for plastics manufacturing industries is organising a workshop on Closing the Loop: Circular Packaging and Company Study Cases.
CIRCVET is an alliance of knowledge and training resources and materials. It comprises trainers from universities and VET centres, research centres, clusters and SME representatives, etc., who develop, test and provide training courses on the circular economy for plastics at European level. The courses are extensive, free and tailored to companies' needs and problems. The project addresses green skills, improving knowledge, abilities, values and attitudes needed to live in, develop and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society, with a focus on the plastics industrial sector.
The workshop will present the project and the e-learning platform and share interesting corporate case studies.
The course modules are as follows:
- The circular economy system and why it must be implemented
- Eco-design and LCA: Overview of eco-design and LCA
- Digital skills. Robotics / artificial intelligence
- Recycling, upcycling and downcycling. Packaging recycling: numbers in the EU, examples and standards
- Manufacturing processes: Methods for saving and recovering energy and water in plastics manufacturing processes and new raw materials
- Users and usages
- Recovery. The concept of recovery and strategies
- Entrepreneurship. Innovation and business models: when the circular economy becomes an opportunity.
