Join the launch of the Global Action Partnership for Extended Producer Responsibility (GAP for EPR) on 19 October at 14:00 CEST!

GIZ, WWF and the OECD are partnering up to establish the Global Action Partnership for Extended Producer Responsibility, hosted by the PREVENT Waste Alliance. This partnership also receives circular economy support from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and is working closely with UNEP to provide technical support to governments and PROs.

GAP for EPR aims to create a common understanding of EPR, provide countries with technical support on developing EPR and build a community of practice to share experience, provide a space for discussing innovation and contribute to relevant international processes.

What you can expect:

  • During the online launch event, the associations involved would like to celebrate this new partnership and the platform for collaboration that it provides
  • They will present the rationale behind GAP for EPR, as well as its activities and options for engagement
  • They will also hear from a diverse group of practitioners and discuss the challenges they are facing in their efforts to implement and operate EPR and how GAP for EPR could best address them.

The launch will include:

  • An introduction to EPR, including the challenges, opportunities and assistance needed
  • A description of GAP for EPR
  • A panel discussion on the challenges our panelists are facing in their efforts to implement and operate EPR schemes
  • How to get involved: a discussion on how GAP for EPR could best address these challenges.

The event will be moderated by Elizabeth Maloba and feature a number of expert speakers.
