Re-think Circular Economy Forum Naples 2022

The Re-think Circular Economy Forum in Naples is designed to present macro-trends, possible evolutionary paths and the main projects of the circular economy at local, national and international level. The main purpose is to spur on the emergence of innovative and entrepreneurial activities that have a positive impact on the local and national economic system.

The Forum will take place on 30 June 2022 at 9:30 - 18:30 CEST at the DaDoM Museum of the Darwin Dohrn Foundation in the Villa Comunale in Naples. Due to room capacity and Covid-related restrictions, physical attendance will be by invitation only. All other interested persons will be able to follow the event online free of charge. The speeches will mainly be in Italian and the full programme will soon be available on the initiative's website.

Over the course of the day, companies, start-ups, research institutions and institutional actors carrying out and supporting projects on the circular economy at different levels will take the floor. The following companies and institutions have already confirmed that they will be taking part: Naples City Council, Port System Authority of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea, EPM, UniCredit, UniCredit Start Lab, Fondazione Dohrn, Enea, CNR, Confagricoltura Campania, Confindustria Campania, Feudi di San Gregorio, Yamamay, Ferrarelle, Nicefiller, ReMida Napoli, Ohoskin, Evja, Renoon, PortXChange, Mare Vivo, IPE-Business School, University of Naples Federico II and University of Naples Parthenope.

The event will focus on three issues:

  1. Ports and Circular Tourism: in-depth discussion with industry experts on emerging technologies and trends, with a focus on the decarbonisation of maritime operations, recovery of waste at sea, and sustainable transition of the tourism sector
  2. Agri-food: in-depth discussion with industry experts on technologies and emerging trends favouring the circular transition of the agri-food sector, with a focus on the wine sector, the pasta supply chain, food waste reduction and packaging recycling
  3. Textile & Fashion: an in-depth discussion with industry experts on technologies and emerging trends in the textile and fashion sector for the recovery of fibres and yarns, the production of eco-friendly fabrics and more efficient use of resources.

The event is organised in cooperation with EPM, UniCredit, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Milan, AdnKronos as media partner and Smallfish as graphics partner. The initiative has currently received patronage from: Campania Region, Naples City Council, Port System Authority of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea, Anton Dohrn Zoological Station, Dohrn Foundation, ARPA Campania, Mare Vivo, AISOM, ASviS, University of Naples Federico II and IPE-Business School.

In compliance with the new provisions introduced at national level, those attending the event in person will have to show their Green Pass at the entrance. Furthermore, in order to ensure the health and safety of all participants and workers, FFP2 masks must be worn throughout the event.
