This workshop, organised by GENIE, will explore a very practical case study of materials reuse. There will be a guided tour of a building where offices are going to be converted into housing as part of a project by the real estate group SPS, the architects' office FdMP and the Matériuum association.

The workshop will tackle the following issues:

  • Impact and technical and economic feasibility
  • Solutions and tools for facilitating or improving reuse in this sector, from planning to delivery.

The agenda is as follows:

  • Behind the scenes of reuse in the construction sector – challenges and methods, with Raphaël Bach, Co-director, Matériuum, and Jill Duchosal-Pichon, Associate Architect, FdMP
  • Experiences of reuse by a major property owner in Geneva: results and feasability, with Aloïs Scherrer, Project manager Construction & Development, UBS Fund Management (Switzerland) AG
  • Recycling construction glass: solutions, challenges and prospects, with Tanguy Vuibert, Supply Chain and Purchasing manager, Saint-Gobain Isover SA Suisse,
