Description:

Clariter is a global cleantech company that has developed a new process to address the world's plastic waste problem. Clariter's technology provides a unique alternative for plastic recycling.

While the industry is currently turning plastic into new plastic, energy, or fuel, Clariter's process transforms plastic waste into high-value, pure industrial products such as oils, waxes and solvents.

These products then become the main ingredients for more than 1000 different consumer and end products, such as oil, car wax, candles or shoe polish. Clariter thus turns end-of-life plastic into a resource and reduces the demand for fossil fuels, contributing to a sustainable economy and clean industry.

Main results:
  • Clariter turns plastic waste that no one wants into high-value, pure ingredients and products that everyone needs.
  • The solvents and oils the company produces are within FDA standards, and the company plans for its products to be found in various applications, from technical to household and cosmetics.
  • Clariter is the first clean-tech company to get a free financial advisory agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) as part of the partnership between Solar Impulse Foundation and EIB.
The company was named among the “#1000 Solutions to Protect the Environment” by the Solar Impulse Foundation, and has been recognised as a Flagship Project of the South African Manufacturing Working Group by the BRICS Business Council.
