Lavandula reuses agro-food by-products to provide added value for cosmetics

Description
The Lavandula project focuses on using agro-food by-products to produce active ingredients used in cosmetics. The project is divided into several stages:
- Identifying agro-food companies and potential recovery of by-products (from artichokes, saffron and broad beans)
- Studying the relevant literature to learn about the raw materials identified
- Setting up the extraction process and identifying its chemical features
- Studying what is involved in the extraction process (based on laboratory tests)
- Creating formulas for cosmetics
- Developing the production process
- Carrying out analyses and preparing the documentation required to place the cosmetics on the market
- Studying and designing the packaging
- Informing the European community via the cosmetic products notification portal (CPNP) and placing the cosmetics on the market.
