Le Pavé®: manufacturing construction and design materials from plastic waste
Le Pavé® is a French company that transforms post-industrial and post-consumer plastic into sustainable construction and design materials. Using a patented industrial process, Le Pavé gives a second life to discarded plastics by converting them into panels, including its flagship SoftSurface™ material, which can be used in architecture, interior design, furniture and product applications.
Le Pavé priorities short supply chains: the plastic waste used as a raw material is collected in France and the panels are manufactured there as well.
SoftSurface™ can be worked like traditional materials but is very durable, recyclable and can be glued or varnished. It is very dense, meaning that it can be used in structural applications.
Le Pavé collaborates with architects, designers, manufacturers, brands and public organisations to integrate recycled materials into real-world projects and its approach promotes eco-design, resource preservation, and a shift away from linear consumption models by considering the end-of-life and future reuse of materials from the design stage.
- As of August 2026, Le Pavé® has recyled nearly 1000 tons of plastic waste into SoftSurface™.
- SoftSurface™ recycled panels have been used in more than 2000 projects across public buildings, retail, offices, hospitality, residential spaces, furniture and objects.
- These panels can be manufactured entirely from recycled plastic waste, without added resin, supporting circular material flows.
