Loopfront: a web-based platform facilitating reuse by organisations
Loopfront is a web-based platform that enables public and private organisations to reuse materials and equipment.
Organisations can identify and then share and redistribute surplus materials and assets with other departments or other organisations, as part of specific projects or ongoing operations. This includes everything from furniture, fixtures and IT equipment to building materials and technical components.
The platform has a number of functionalities. Organisations can set up internal marketplaces, enabling employees to post surplus materials which can be used in other departments. An external marketplace was launched in 2024, where everyone can see listings and companies can register to order from Loopfront customers.
Loopfront can be used as an inventory software. Organisations can keep track of what they have in storage or in use, making it much easier to see what can be reused and so avoid unnecessary purchases. QR codes can be attached to assets and linked to the software. The software is also useful for construction projects and property management: materials can be reused and surplus materials are identified and can be sold on.
The platform has a survey tool: using a photo of a given asset, the tool automatically suggests information using image recognition, such as category and title. It also gives suggestions on purchase price, weight and carbon dioxide estimates, forming the basis for the savings reports.
As of August 2026, users have reused more than 295 000 objects and saved over EUR 30 million, 1 800 tons of carbon dioxide and 4 000 tons of waste.
They have over 500 unique users who log in daily.
Loopfront is used by over 90 public and private organisations, from municipalities to government agencies and real estate companies.
They have four customer segments: public administration, large companies, property management and development, and retail chains.
