How can we move beyond waste management and unlock the full potential of construction materials in a circular economy?

INERTWASTE is an Interreg Europe project focusing on making use of inert and inorganic industry and construction waste. This is its final conference, which will showcase its achievements along with inspiring circular solutions for overcoming some of the key challenges facing the built environment in the circular transition.

Through exchanges of regional experiences, successful approaches and practical examples, the conference will investigate four building blocks for local and regional action:

• reuse, to keep materials in use for as long as possible;
• collection and management, to preserve the value of materials and enable their recovery;
• recycled aggregates, to turn waste into trusted secondary raw materials;
• circular public procurement, to create demand and accelerate market uptake.

Study visits to BC Materials and Rotor DC will offer first-hand insights into practical solutions that are already helping to transform the construction sector and make circularity a reality.

The conference will take place in person only and in English on 7-8 October. It is open to all and free of charge but but you will need to register and there is a limited number of spots for the study visits. Register and see the programme.
