First B-Trust Masterclass: Co-Creating Biotech Trust in Agri-Food and Bio-based Industries

The B-Trust project is launching its first masterclass in the series on Unlocking Consumer Trust in Innovative Biotechnologies: A Masterclass Series. The opening session will focus on Co-Creating Biotech Trust in Agri-Food and Bio-based Industries.

It will explore the critical role of consumer trust in the adoption and success of biotechnologies in the agri-food and bio-based sectors. It will offer participants valuable insights into how businesses and research institutions can incorporate stakeholder concerns, communicate benefits and risks effectively, and ultimately build trust among the public.

Participants will hear from project partner Alice Down the Rabbit Hole, who will share details of a co-creation programme developed under the B-Trust project. It aims to engage consumers, farmers and industry players in meaningful dialogue, ensuring that innovative biotechnologies are understood and accepted.

The B-Trust project studies biotechnologies that drive sustainability in the agri-food and bio-based sectors. These sectors are inherently linked to circular economy principles, particularly in terms of how they can optimise the use of natural resources, minimise waste and make use of by-products.

This masterclass will showcase real-world examples of how trust-building through consumer engagement can directly support the adoption of circular biotechnological innovations. They will also explore how co-creation methodologies help involve stakeholders (farmers, industries and consumers) in designing more sustainable, circular solutions that meet their needs and expectations.

The session is open to stakeholders in the agri-food and bio-based sectors, including companies, investors, biotechnology researchers, policy makers and public authorities - anyone involved in implementing biotechnologies and concerned with public trust and social acceptance.

The session on Co-Creating Biotech Trust in Agri-Food and Bio-based Industries will take place online on 8 October from 09:00 to 10:30 CEST. Registration.
