Description

The EU Food Loss and Waste Prevention Hub is a one-stop-shop for stakeholders active in the area of food loss and waste prevention and reduction, across the EU and beyond.

It builds on the work of the REFRESH Community of Experts website, a database of food waste prevention initiatives created under the EU-funded REFRESH project. This project ended in 2019, and the European Commission transferred its resources to the EU Food Loss and Waste Prevention Hub so that they can be kept up and grown. The Member States pages are updated by national experts.

The Hub website enables users to:

  • share good practices. Users can search by type of resource, such as events, reports, videos and articles.
  • find relevant information on national measures, such as policies and legislative developments. There is a page for each Member State, with data on food waste at national and sector level, and a description of the national bodies reponsible, the targets set and the legislation governing this field.
  • stay up to date with developments and results from EU-funded projects focusing on food loss and waste prevention. This section lists the relevant projects and their objectives. For completed projects, there is a explanation of what they achieved.

The website is open to anyone interested, registering is only necessary if you want to submit content.
