Description

ROSECO manages textile waste using a circular economy model. Active in Romania, it combines collection, sorting, reuse and recycling.

ROSECO initially focused on reuse, and has decades of experience in that area by now. Textiles that can be reused are prepared for a second life, extending the lifespan of products and reducing the amount of textile waste generated. 12 kilogram bags of reusable clothing, from women's blouses to socks, are offered for sale on their website. ROSECO ranks them by condition, from barely used, to worn and needing repair, to good only as rags.

After reuse, it was logical to move on to recycling what can't be reused. These textiles are mechanically recycled and transformed into textile fibres used in various industrial applications. They produce six types of recycled fibre, such as denim, polyester and cotton. They can produce industrial-level amounts.

ROSECO’s mission is to support the development of the circular economy in the textile industry by extending the life of textiles and transforming textile waste into valuable raw materials.

Main results
  • Roseco contributes to reducing textile waste by promoting reuse and recycling.
  • Their model helps divert textile waste from landfill, supports the use of secondary raw materials and contributes to the development of circular textile value chains in Romania and the European Union.
  • As of March 2026, ROSECO recycles 21 tons of textile waste every day, deals with over 200 types of product and has over 170 employees.
