2023 Circular Week: Put economy in circular motion

Circular Week, an international series of events dedicated to sustainable development and the circular economy, will take place this year from 23 to 29 October. Look through the full agenda of events and sign up!

Each day of Circular Week will be dedicated to a different area of the circular economy. Panel discussions, workshops and webinars will explore challenges and opportunities for the development of circularity in specific sectors of the economy. There will also be networking sessions connecting up stakeholders, virtual and stationary trade fairs for circular companies, and round table sessions.

  • Monday 23 October - 12:00 - 15:00 On the road to sustainable packaging
    • Redefining packaging – what are sustainable solutions? Debate, hosted by the Embassy of Great Britain, on the latest sustainable solutions in the packaging industry, preceded by an introduction from the perspective of the European Commission, as well as international and local NGOs. Presentation of circular solutions from partners

  • Tuesday 24 October - 9:30 - 15:00 Bioeconomy day
    • Three panel discussions (national strategies for building ecosystems for circular bioeconomy development, circular food hubs as a solution to food waste in cities, and the use of biomass and bio-waste in various economic sectors) and a live cooking session

  • Wednesday 25 October - 9:00 - 16:30 Mazovia Circular Congress 2023
    • Focal point of Circular Week: panel discussions and expert speeches on ESG reporting, packaging deposit systems, the role of entrepreneurs in the circular transformation, the impact of digitalisation and bioengineering on sustainable development, EU regulations and perspectives, EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) and much more

  • Thursday 26 October | Circular cities, waste management, deposit return system
    • 11:00 - 13:00 Deposit return system - how to make it work? Presentation and discussion on effective deposit-refund systems, followed by a panel discussion with DRS operators from Slovakia and Germany, and other international experts

    • 13:30 - 15:30 Circular cities - Expert round table with local administration representatives + case study presentation  A panel dedicated to local government officials. Representatives of Polish and European cities will discuss challenges, opportunities and the future of circular transformation in their cities

  • Friday 27 October - Textiles & sustainable fashion
    • 10:00 - 12:00 The future of the textile industry - Expert round table
      • Debate with representatives of the fashion and textile industry, bringing together big brands, small luxury boutiques and circular businesses, as well as producers, manufacturers and independent experts, academics and representatives of international NGOs

      • Special event at the Warsaw Galeria Wileńska shopping centre: workshops, including one on sewing bags from recycled materials. Exhibition of second-hand clothing designed by students
