Repair Network Vienna: information on how to have household items repaired - or how to do it yourself!

Description

The Repair Network focuses on repairing everyday objects, such as clothing, washing machines, smartphones and chairs. Users can search for someone to repair their item or find information on how to do it themselves. There are articles on how to protect your smartphone so you don't need to replace it and how to service your bicycle, dates of repair-related events and repair cafés and guidance on what to do with your Windows 10 computer. The network also runs workshops for schools.

The network is intended for private individuals and companies, and is geared to repair over buying new.

The network has more than 150 member companies in and around Vienna, specialising in high quality repair services. Member companies have to meet criteria to ensure quality standards in repair services. The Repair Network Vienna was founded in 1999, and has since then been a pioneer in developing quality standards for repair services and highlighting the importance of repair and reuse for a sustainable and resource-efficient economy.

The Repair Network Vienna is supported by the Executive City Councillor for the Environment and Vienna Public Utilities, the Municipal Department 48 (Waste Management, Street Cleaning and Vehicle Fleet) and the Municipal Department 22 (Environmental Protection). The Repair Network Vienna is a project of Eco Counselling Vienna.
