Circular Summit Fryslân 2025: Full Circle - Territories in transition towards a collaborative circular economy

Circular Summit Fryslân 2025 will highlight the power of regions in shaping a circular future.

Regions are essential to advancing the circular economy in Europe. They operate at the right scale: impactful, yet close to local actors who drive real change. Collaboration is key though, and will make it possible to tackle shared challenges, exchange knowledge and build interregional value chains.

The Summit will feature:

  • keynote speeches
  • hands-on working sessions on monitoring, circular plastic, circular and biobased construction, circular procurement, education and skills, clean and healthy soils, and closing the loop: towards a resilient water future,
  • inspiring field trips through urban and rural parts of Fryslân covering water innovation, nature restoration, circular construction, material reuse, inclusive work and education, and
  • poster presentations enabling European projects to showcase their work to a broad audience.

It will conclude with a joint position paper setting out shared ambitions and policy recommendations for Europe’s circular future.

The General Assembly of ACR+, the network for circular cities and regions, will be part of the programme. The Summit will conclude with the awards ceremony for the 2024 European Week for Waste Reduction, focusing on food waste.

This event will take place on 10-12 June in Fryslân. It will be in English and in person only. Registration and programme.
