OneFamily.uno: A platform promoting family-like sharing
OneFamily.uno is a new European platform where people share resources and time. They are rewarded for this in ORE, a digital unit that reflects the life hours members invest so that value keeps flowing through the community. Reuse and sharing become the default behaviour.
OneFamily.uno aims to replicate the best family behaviour at societal level:
Resource sharing: users offer items they already own (tools, clothes, baby equipment, books, electronics, kitchen equipment, vehicles) for people near them to use.
Time sharing: various services (help with repairs, childcare, transport, knowledge, elder care, emotional support) can be planned and booked easily.
ORE is the platform's time-based unit of value. It represents a life hour because everything we do, use or create needs time. Each item or hour of help booked unlocks ORE which can then be used to book another service.
Education: poorly behaved members are educated by means of integrated self-development courses.
Fulfilling dreams: community projects are in reach when sharing becomes standard behaviour.
How is it circular?
- It promotes direct reuse of objects;
- It helps extend objects' lifetime by means of regular repair workshops;
- It helps moderate demand, as people can ask if a given object is available to borrow before buying one;
- It promotes a change in behaviour, where family-like behaviour becomes habit-forming because it is rewarded both socially and economically.
- 41 active members in the Bamberg pilot family group
- 23 resource shares completed (tools, electronics, vehicles)
