The Green Deal, Circular Economy and Industrial Ecology Symposium 2024 will take place on 5-6 December at the MSH Clermont in Clermont-Ferrand. It will bring together researchers and practitioners who will present their research on industrial ecology and circular economy.

Marine Courmont Lelieur works as the head of European and International Affairs at the National Institute for Circular Economy (INEC).

INEC is a French multi-stakeholder association made up of more than 200 public and private organisations: businesses, local authorities, associations, professional federations and universities. Founded in 2013, INEC is now recognised as the leading think tank in France on resource preservation. It aims to promote the circular economy, link up the key issues of the green transition and identify achievable trajectories for making production and consumption models sustainable.

INEC has three main activities :

  • Produce and publish studies to meet the need for objective data on the circular economy;
  • Shape proposals and work with public authorities to ensure that the legislative framework is geared to the circular economy;
  • Support public and private actors as they implement circular strategies.

Marine Courmont Lelieur is in charge of INEC's activities in Europe and around the world. Advocating for resource preservation, she covers topics related to circular economy policies, international partnerships and EU-funded projects. She has a Master's degree in European environmental policies and expertise in the circular economy.

FEAD, the European Waste Management Association, will be holding a conference on Circular Economy Priorities in Brussels in December.

The European Sustainability Congress 2024 is one of the biggest international events focusing on the circular economy and sustainable development.

It aims to promote the idea of the circular economy, support sustainable business models and establish cooperation between interested stakeholders. The Congress will be the focal point of Circular Week 2024 and is organised by INNOWO - Institute for Innovation and Responsible Development and Polish Circular Hotspot, in cooperation with the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform.

PRIMUS was a research project funded under the Horizon Europe programme, which ran from 2022 to 2025.  It researched new polymer recycling technologies, with a view to producing new recycled materials that meet the requirements for manufacturing high value products. 

It produced a webinar series on Boosting Plastic Recycling and a number of training courses.

ETRA, the European Tyre Recycling Association, and AIMPLAS, the Plastics Technology Centre, are organising an international workshop exploring rubber recycling, polymer technology and EU-funded projects.

It will address various challenges in the elastomeric materials sector by providing a dynamic platform for sharing knowledge and exploring opportunities. There will be a pitch session, where experts will consider each participant's project, and sessions on issues such as Market analysis: challenges, opportunities and limits in the recycled rubber industry.

 

The Climate Change Summit (CCS), the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) to focus on climate solutions, will bring together leaders in climate innovation, policy, entrepreneurship and government to discuss climate action and green economy opportunities. 

Experts will work together to identify local and regional solutions for a sustainable future.
