IEEFC was established in 2014 and aims to promote a community of stakeholders (including public authorities and businesses) committed to the environmental, economic and social transition.
Its focus is the functional economy: encouraging people to buy the use of an item rather than the item itself. This approach limits the amount of resources needed to meet people's needs.
The Institute fosters cooperation between public and private stakeholders. It is active in knowledge sharing and awareness raising, organising workshops and visual aids. It encourages networking and acts as a discussion forum, with a network of clubs in France and two in Brazil.
It also has a library of publications on the functional economy.
The Circular Economy Academy is a free mentoring and support programme, set up by the Rediscovery Centre, which is the National Centre for the Circular Economy in Ireland. The programme assists social enterprises and community organisations in Ireland to move their activities towards sustainability and embrace the circular economy.
The aim of the Circular Economy Academy is to facilitate Ireland’s transition to the circular economy through demonstration, education and collaboration. The support provided is based on the Rediscovery Centre’s vast knowledge of social enterprise development and design thinking concepts, from advice for start ups to business planning, funding, diversification, training and more.
Each service is tailor-made to suit the needs of the participating organisation.
The Circular Economy Network was set up in 2019 by the Fondazione per lo sviluppo sostenibile, supported by a group of businesses and organisations from a range of economic sectors. The Network aims to promote the development of the circular economy in Italy.
It focuses on:
disseminating publications on the circular economy;
defining key circularity indicators and analysing national performance;
analysing the main barriers and identifying solutions to them;
drawing up strategies, policies and measures to be put to decision-makers;
promoting dialogue between businesses and institutions;
Circular Oslo promotes multi-stakeholder collaboration to accelerate the circular transition in the Oslo Region.
It does so by sharing knowledge and expertise for reduced material consumption, while supporting regional activities with a positive social, economic and environmental impact.
Circular Oslo:
inspires by identifying and highlighting municipalities, organisations, projects and initiatives that implement circular solutions and innovative business models
develops and provides access to tools, workshops and educational resources for public entities, communities, NGOs, businesses, entrepreneurs and students to better understand and implement circular solutions
collaborates with similar initiatives whose values and mission align
Circular Economy Transition is a pioneer initiative that aims to accelerate Switzerland's transition a circular economy. It currently takes place in five Swiss cities: Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich.
In close collaboration with Impact Hub Switzerland, sanu durabilitas and with the support of the MAVA foundation, this initiative will contribute to drive the new paradigm for the future of business, policy making and society.
Circular Conversations is an independent and decentralised community platform showcasing solutions for systemic change.
It tells stories of change to promote the dissemination of ideas and practices able to move us forward in the transition towards a regenerative and distributive economy.
Building upon its vision of systemic change, the forum aims to engage local communities and people around the world through its work at the intersection of four pillars: science, entrepreneurship, art and community engagement.
Its Research Series provides researchers with a platform to present their innovative research.

The Circular Economy Foundation is an independent, Iberian foundation active in the field of environmental, economic, social and cultural sustainability.
It gathers knowledge about the circular economy and promotes it in Spain and Portugal, Europe, the Mediterranean basin, Latin America and the islands. It conducts research, provides advice on reducing business' carbon footprint and was involved in setting up the Educacircular educational programme. It also organises events related to the circular economy.
Circular Economy Club is the networking arm of the Circular Economy Institute. It wants to put the circular economy on the map, locally and globally.
It has over 10 000 members and 280 clubs in 140 countries around the world. People can sign up for free, join their local club and discuss circular issues. Clubs meet in person and online, with a view to making the circular economy a reality.
CEC aims to see all cities operating on a circular model, eliminating waste.
