Up2Circ is an international project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe programme. The overall aim is to help European SMEs go circular.

The project assists SMEs: there are awareness-raising and training modules and information on how to apply for EU funding. The platform has prepared a catalogue of its success stories.

The platform is also building a network of stakeholders: people with access to many SMEs, expertise in a given sector and/or the circular economy, advanced technologies or social innovation. These people will have access to Up2Circ's tools for helping SMEs.

The website also has information on circular events. The project organisers have experience with assisting SMEs; with this project they are focusing on the circular dimension.
 

Sweden aims to have gone circular by 2030.

Circular Sweden wants to help deliver on this goal. It is a corporate forum keen to make material flows more circular. 

It focuses on technological development, consumer behaviour and policy, against the backdrop of circular design, sustainable consumption, increased access to and use of recycled materials, and circular value chains. Circular Sweden is a forum where businesses, policy makers and researchers can discuss obstacles and opportunities.

Its members influence major material flows or are active in enacting circularity. It organises roundtable conversations, reports and media activities. Workshops and strategy meetings aim to create synergies, spread good practices and find ways for companies to create more circular material flows.

Nordic Circular Arena is a digital gathering place for circularity professionals in the Nordic countries. 

It is a freely accessible online platform, hosted by Nordic Circular Hotspot and co-funded by Nordic Innovation, and the first digital multi-stakeholder platform for the circular transition in the Nordic region.

Through the Arena, you can:

• get and share circular information, knowledge and intelligence
• find others working on circularity in your region and beyond
• access circular economy projects and opportunities, reports and resources, networks, companies and organisations, events and much more.

Participants can g​​​​​​et involved in the circular transition by taking part in discussions, sharing their ideas, opportunities and information, and forging new circular connections.

The International Center for Resources and Innovation for Sustainable Development (CIRIDD in French) was set up in 2005. It aims to contribute to the emergence of new societal models which are more respectful of all living beings, future generations and the planet. 

It promotes sustainable development, based on cooperation within organisations, regions and sectors, and its projects vary from local to international. It assists businesses, regions and industries as they shift to greener, more circular business models and strategies, helping them get to grips with the various impacts of their activities and promoting the product-as-a-service model.

CIRIDD produces French-language brochures and web series and was instrumental in setting up the eclaira and Economiecirculaire.org platforms.

Circe.med is a network of Mediterranean organisations involved in the transition towards ecologically and sustainable ecosystems. Established at the start of 2024, it wants to help deliver a carbon-free, circular economy which will improve people's quality of life. 

The initiative aims to deepen, promote and implement a circular economy based on efficient and reduced use of natural resources.

Three main strands:

• Sustainable food
• Tourism and plastic in coastal areas
• The built environment

The network's member organisations strive to deliver an effective circular economy in the Mediterranean which will benefit their individual ecosystems and the region as a whole.

The network is supported by an online platform, Circemed.org, which promotes cooperation and acts as a resource centre.

The Circular Investment Readiness Network is a joint initiative by the Horizon Europe projects CircularInvest and DEFINITE-CCRI.

The initiative will help circular economy projects overcome the challenges related to development and investment readiness. It will bring local governments, investors, Project Development Assistance providers and external service providers together with CircularInvest and DEFINITE-CCRI project owners and SMEs to foster the exchange of expertise, pinpoint opportunities and generate momentum.

Basically, it will advance circular economy objectives by facilitating the development of financeable, high-impact, low-risk circular projects.

C2C NGO aims to speed up the deployment of the Cradle to Cradle concept.

It encourages organisations and individuals to rethink and transform, and brings business, science, education, politics, culture and civil society together. It carries its message to all parts of society and is active in public debate.

It has volunteers throughout Germany, who advocate for the idea of Cradle to Cradle. Its Congress is the world’s largest C2C platform: every year, over 1 000 participants from the C2C community meet there with key figures from science, business and politics. Forums, lectures and workshops are an opportunity to discuss matters and network.

C2C has also established the C2C LAB in Berlin: a living laboratory for circular innovation in housing.

Circular Hub Tirol is the point of contact for all issues dealing with the circular economy in Austria's Tyrol region. Together with their partners, they offer services such as

• project initiation
• networking
• circularity check for SMEs
• information and further education on the circular economy, and
• an annual exhibition of good practices in the area of circular design.

CircularPSP brings together eight leading Circular Economy cities, representing 45 million people. Its focus is pre-commercial procurement (PCP).

It has invested EUR 5.64 million in R&D and provides training and holds conferences. The procurers represent a number of European countries, including capitals with strong global outreach (Berlin, Helsinki, London and Istanbul).

Its goal is to design, develop and test an innovative ‘circular economy solution’ that enables municipalities and their staff as well as businesses in the local economy to apply circular practices more quickly, frequently, widely and effectively.

Other cities, regions, government organisations, public procurers and projects are encouraged to become part of the Follower Network.

Ambition4Circularity is a platform collecting circular commitments by large French companies. It is supported by the French Association of Large Companies (AFEP) that reflects their growing commitment to move towards a more sustainable production model.

Companies have been mobilising since 2017, with a wide range of commitments to activate the seven pillars of circular economy as defined by the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME) and based on their specific activities.

The commitments listed on the platform primarily involve the company’s internal stakeholders, along with suppliers, partners and customers. All aspects of the circular economy are leveraged in these commitments, from the supply of sustainable resources to the repair and recycling of the end product.
