The BDI Initiative Circular Economy was created in April 2021 by the Federation of German Industries.
It is a network of more than 50 members that defines the potential of the circular economy and the necessary framework conditions through practical discussions. To this end, they are in close dialogue with policymakers in Berlin and Brussels and with the scientific community.
Circular Valley aims to establish a future-oriented circular economy.
It was founded in 2021, and already over 100 startups from all around the world have participated in its Circular Economy Accelerator.
It is funded by the North-Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of the Economy with a view to leveraging and developing the region's strengths through innovative circular economy concepts, products and business models.
Members can connect up with 140+ partners from industry, R&D and government from the Circular Valley network. The platform also organises expert workshops, tailor-made training sessions and an intensive coaching and mentoring programme.
Based in Barcelona, Rezero is a non-profit organisation that, in collaboration with social and economic actors in Spain, aims to push the model of production and consumption towards zero waste.
Rezero looks for new solutions to extend the life of products and materials by facilitating reuse and eliminate the generation of household waste.
It has a section for information, analysis and debate, where initiatives aiming to achieve a zero-waste society are tested. There is also a section on zero-waste projects. Rezero offers advice and support to companies aiming to reduce their footprint.
Recyclo aims to be a catalyst for the circular economy, helping urban areas be more resource efficient through better waste management and recovery.
It is a cooperative, which identifies problems, proposes solutions and helps implement them. It provides consultancy, training and business development, with the objective of raising awareness about urban waste. It works with public authorities, businesses and civic platforms, promoting a zero waste approach.
It works with waste management companies, and has set up a collection service geared to the needs of businesses. It has also organised a network of compost sites across Brussels, supplied with organic waste by restaurants and bars.
The European Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Councils Network brings together advisory bodies offering independent advice to national or regional governments and parliaments on climate change, environment and sustainable development.
The vast majority of EEAC members work in particular on the transition towards a circular economy model. With representatives from academia, civil society, the private sector and public bodies, the EEAC network brings together experts with years of experience producing analysis and recommendations that should enhance the shift to a circular economy at sub-national, national and EU level.
VCØB aims to guide, support and involve actors from the construction value chain in Denmark. They help identify issues and barriers to the circular economy in construction, through increased knowledge sharing and dialogue.
Ultimately, VCØB wants Denmark to have a flexible market for the circular economy. It is working on:
gathering and providing technical expert knowledge, facts and figures on the circular economy for all actors in the construction value chain
developing new knowledge and tools, both as part of their own activities and in collaboration with other networks and stakeholders
conducting a number of activities, such as partnering with networks/projects, conferences, workshops and webinars.
DigitalLead is Denmark's national cluster for digital technologies. They organise yearly network sessions on circular economy called Green Tech - Cirkulær økonomi.
Employees and managers in related businesses can join the network and participate in meetings to discuss the development of the circular economy and how digital technologies can be applied.
The Green Production Network of Swabia is organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Bavarian part of Swabia (Germany) and KUMAS - Kompetenzzentrum Umwelt e. V. It is open to companies that are members of the CCI.
The network organises discussions and the exchange of experience in the field of energy and the environment, including issues related to the circular economy.
The Danube Goes Circular is a platform set up under the Interreg MOVECO project which ran from December 2016 to August 2019. The platform aims to promote awareness of and engagement in the circular economy, and involves sixteen partners from the ten Danube countries.
There is a marketplace for reusable materials, designed to match up supply and demand for waste and reusable materials and products meet in order to foster eco-innovation in the Danube region.
The platform provides information on how to extend a product’s useful lifecycle as well as on legal requirements and corporate good practices linked to the promotion of the circular economy. The toolbox section includes fact sheets for SMEs.
The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) is a private business and employers' organisation representing around 20 000 companies in Denmark. They aim to provide the best possible corporate conditions for their member companies.
DI's network for circular economy (text in Danish only) aims to create a platform for companies that are interested in, working with or want to be updated on the circular economy. It organises three meetings a year, and is open to members of the Confederation of Danish Industry.
