INCIEN is Slovakia’s circular economy network, a team of experts who have carried out various projects for businesses, public authorities and the general public.
The network has worked with partners at national and international level. They aim to make the circular economy an effective tool in the fight against climate change, the biodiversity crisis and pollution.
It has a number of priorities:
Helping reduce the amount of waste generated
Proposing and carrying out change
Connecting people and raising awareness
Its work with authorities focuses largely on waste management, whereas it helps businesses adopt circular principles. It also conducts educational activities (Green Circular Academy), and prepares studies.
INCIENis an NGO set up in 2015 to promote the circular economy in Czechia.
It has its own research team: a Think Tank which monitors Czech and EU legislation and prepares reports.
INCIEN has established the Czech Circular Hotspot, the biggest Czech community working on the circular economy. With nearly 70 members, the hotspot pools knowledge and experience.
INCIEN also provides consultancy services, helping companies reduce their carbon footprint and adopt circular approaches. It also assists with training, organising sessions to teach employees about the circular economy from the perspective of ESG, energy and waste.
Circular Norway is a politically independent organisation that works nationally to transform a linear to a circular economy. On behalf of its members, the association works politically to strengthen framework conditions and increase the pace of change.
Circular Norway helps its members to make better use of their resources and strengthens their competitiveness in the national and international market. Through practical help, expertise and knowledge networks, it makes the transition to a circular economy both easier and more profitable.
The network has produced visual guides to explain the principles of circular economy for a Norwegian audience.
The Swedish Life Cycle Center is an initiative by the Swedish Energy Agency, hosted by Chalmers University of Technology, which strengthens collaboration and encourages more organisations to apply a life cyle perspective in Sweden.
It focuses on life cycle thinking about products. This means considering not just what happens during its production or use, but also how the raw materials were made and what happens after the user no longer wants it.
The Circular Economy Academy is a free mentoring and support programme, set up by the Rediscovery Centre, which is the National Centre for the Circular Economy in Ireland. The programme assists social enterprises and community organisations in Ireland to move their activities towards sustainability and embrace the circular economy.
The aim of the Circular Economy Academy is to facilitate Ireland’s transition to the circular economy through demonstration, education and collaboration. The support provided is based on the Rediscovery Centre’s vast knowledge of social enterprise development and design thinking concepts, from advice for start ups to business planning, funding, diversification, training and more.
Each service is tailor-made to suit the needs of the participating organisation.
Following a 19 February 2019 workshop on Circular Economy Competences - Making the Case for Lifelong Learningin the European Parliament, ACR+ and Zero Waste Scotland have produced a report detailing how to introduce circular thinking in education, create vocational training programmes in waste management, repair and reuse, and developing training programs for local authority staff.
The Circular Economy Competences, Making the Case for Lifelong Learning report, published by ACR+ and Zero Waste Scotland , builds on the workshop these orgnisations hosted in the Euroepan Parliament on 19 February 2019. It gathers the experiences participants shared in that workshop, and is meant to help educators, policymakers and managers of NGOs involved in training and educational organisations to promote the development of local circular economy loops.
