Description

TOMRA is the world leader in reverse vending solutions. It has over 50 years' experience and more than 105 000 machines in 100+ countries. These machines are often present in supermarkets: you've probably used one, in fact: it's very convenient as you can drop off your containers and redeem the voucher stating how much money you've earned when you pay for your shopping. TOMRA has made a point of this convenience as it encourages people to drop off their containers and helps shops increase footfall by adding a valuable service.

The company has a range of models, which provide an automated method for collecting, sorting and handling used beverage containers for recycling or reuse. More and more countries are opting for deposit return systems for single-use beverage containers, and TOMRA facilitates this process. Their machines maintain the food-grade status of used beverage containers so that they can be reused through closed-loop recycling.

TOMRA’s cutting-edge sorting technologies retain valuable resources by extracting high-purity fractions from mixed waste and metal streams in the most remote parts of the world. Their systems sort and recover various materials, including PET flakes in Türkiye, paper in Ireland, aluminium in Italy, glass in Belgium and post-industrial and post-consumer plastics in China.
